Take a colorful journey on this surrealist desert highway. While the colors are vivid and bright, this painting was actually inspired by the late 90's song "The Way" by Fastball, which is based a true story about Lela and Raymond Howard, an elderly married couple's, disappearance in June 1997 from Salado, TX. When Lela, who suffered from Alzheimer's disease and Ray, who was just recovering from brain surgery, left home to attend a nearby festival, they got lost and were later found deceased in a ravine near Hot Springs, Arkansas. As someone who has personally experienced what it's like to be a family member of someone with Alzheimer's disease, the song, which has a beautiful melody, is an eerie reminder of how fragile life is.

This beautiful painting reproduction is printed on acid-free archival heavy weight matte paper (230g, 9.5-mil), featuring a smooth surface and neutral white base for vivid, rich color printing.

Available in multiple size options.

Ships flat with backing board & clear sleeve to protect print. Arrives ready to frame.
